After waiting six months, in July 2016, we initiated a petition to ask the federal government what they were doing about President Obama’s executive action on immigration. The We The People petition was a great vehicle to collect 100,000 signatures within 30 days, which would make the administration follow up and reply to our petition. We were able to collect 103K signatures, and we did receive a response. The response highlighted what the administration had achieved and was aspiring to achieve. But, it did highlight that they saw the need to modernize the immigration system and the President’s repeated calls on Congress to implement immigration reform.
